A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)

This is a wildly underrated hilarious comedy. I think, however, that it missed its audience by one generation. When I talk to people that saw it when it first came out in 2014, they seemed underwhelmed, but when I was carrying around the novelization years later during my classes, everyone that noticed told me how much they loved the movie, so I think people in their early 20s will probably appreciate this film more based on the statistics that I have seen. At any rate, I am here to say that this is my go-to movie for when I am traveling. It is light-hearted and just all around funny. There are a couple scenes that I don’t like (poop jokes aren’t really my style), but honestly two total minutes of screen time in a movie over 2 hours (unrated - which is definitely the better version, as you miss out on some truly funny and amusing content with the theatrical) means absolutely nothing to my overall enjoyment of the film. I’m not going to lie and say it is the most intelligent comedy I have seen, but that doesn’t make it any less funny. The casting is also great, but I think that Seth MacFarlane and Charlize Theron always play really well off of each other. I would also say that if you saw this movie years ago to maybe consider giving it another chance, when you are in a good mood and maybe feeling like watching something that will be completely ridiculous, but in the end, no matter how many times I see this, it will always make me laugh.
